Most national chess federations issue FIDE IDs either for free or for a small fee, typically within a few days. You’ll need to submit your passport and a photo ID as part of the process. This is a one-time registration, and your FIDE ID will remain valid for life.

Alternatively, you can contact the rating officer of your national federation and request your FIDE ID directly.

(2) Directly from FIDE Arena (Paid Option)

If you prefer, you can obtain a FIDE ID directly through the FIDE Arena. Follow the steps from FIDE Arena.

The cost is approximately €25 and will take 3-5 days.

With this method, you will play under the FIDE flag instead of a national federation. A yearly renewal is required for this.
